Is there anything special about your setup? Are you running an OEM fuel system or something modified? How about the ignition/ECU? Is the starter turning the engine easily?Remember the three ingredients: fuel, air & spark.

With the key in the ON position but engine off, on the power fc Commander go to monitor --> 8 channel. write down everything there or take a readable picture.

Now go to etc.--> sensor/sw check. write down all the sensor voltages and list all the switches that are enabled (black dot next to them). or take a readable picture and post it.

Sounds like you need to sort out the wiring re the leading coil. You may have already damaged it as well. What problem did you have in the past with the leading coil?

You are probably going to need to get into the harness loom on that side of the engine and see where you're getting a short.

would it just have to do with the engine harness itself or would it extend into the front harness as well?

^^I can't be sure right off which harness supplies the coils. I am fairly certain it is the one on the driver's side of the engine. You will need to pull the UIM anyway and that will expose the wiring to the coils. Then, trail back from the plug going to the leading coil itself. It is most likely in that harness. You may even be better served replacing that entire harness. If there is one short, then you can bet there are more.

I am also trying to figure out why a fuse did not pop. I would think the coils would be protected by a fuse.

i've been trying to trace where the short is and trying to wrap my head around the wiring diagram manual (i'm not electrically inclined)

is it possible if the wiring harness for the trailing rear and trailing front ignition coils were reversed, could that cause the leading ignition coil to burn out?

Go to page G20 of the FSM and you will find a rendering of how the Coil wiring is supposed to go. It should be fairlly obvious which plug goes to which coil. I tried to copy it from an on-line manual but it would not work.

PM Timebomb. I do not know what the values are supposed to be on the PFC. Did you ever get your lead coil short issue sorted out?
