Need guidance with swapping blown turbo's

Hey guys i tried using the search function to find a guide on changing turbo's, but could not find anything.

My twin turbo's blew a while ago and i haven't had time to fix my car. I finally bought a pair of second hand ones and i want to change them myself. This is the first time i will be changing the turbo's on my rx7 so i was looking for some sort of guidance. I have a small idea of whats going on, however any help will be great.

i was looking for a guide on removing and installing the Ht-12's. If anyone has spotted anything on this forum or another, if you could point me into a direction that would be great.

I'll also be installing a 3.5 " dump pipe at the same time since all the nuts and bolts are off, so any help will be greatly appreciated on this topic.

NB: I've already purchased relevant gaskets from Mazda to replace the old ones.

Thanks guys.

thats pretty much all you need right there. Start unbolting all the stuff on the passenger side of your car (well might be driver side for you IDK)., Once you get the DP off fallow the picture and shake the hell out of the turbos and it should fall right out.

Here's the gist of what needs to be done:

https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=557

Basically, if something is in the way, just remove it. Use the factory service manual and you'll be set.

Technically, you should buy new nuts. However, they are expensive from Mazda (about $7 USD per nut) so many people reuse them.

Sorry to piggyback on your topic OP, but while you have everyone's attention I figure now is the time.

I'm going to tackle this job later in the spring and wanted to know if there are other things that I should be replacing while I'm in there? Such as are there things that would be exponentially easier to diagnose/replace/repair with the turbos out of the way?

I already plan on obviously replacing the crush washers, gaskets, and small coolant hoses associated with the turbos.

What about the LIM gasket? Worth the time if I don't have a problem currently? Heater core hoses or anything else back there? (Previous owner already put in stainless OMP hoses).

Obviously you don't know how to search or too lazy.

First, are you changing the entire assembly? If so, try the FSM.

If you are not changing the entire assembly, do a search and read the posts instead of skimming the header.

There should be classes on using the search feature, can be frustrating if you don't know how to use it.
