Need EGR help please

hey everyone. i need some help. So i got myself a jspec motor. hella clean. when i was swapping the wire harness over (they cut the one from the jspec motor) i noticed in the rats nest that there was no EGR Valve sensor (yellow plug). then i looked on the intake manifold and there was no EGR valve. So, being that my USDM wire harness has the yellow plug but there is no EGR valve, will i be getting a "Check Engine" light?? Also, I live in a town that does not need emissions. if anyone can guide me (with pictures; before and after) as to what stuff i can take off the rats nest that'd be great too. thanks for your time.

Bobby

Are you using the stock ECU?

If you have a Cali based ECU, then yes you will get the EGR CEL. However, I don't believe that will cause any performance problems; just an annoying dash light.

If you don't have a Cali based ECU, then you just need a resistor for the EGR solenoid or you can just connect it and not connect any vacuum lines to it.

Easiest way is to plug everything up without the EGR and see if you get ECU code:

16 - EGR valve (California only)

I have a cali car.

my egr was giving me cel light on the dash, so I unhooked the vacuum line and plugged the holes.

I only sometimes get the light on.

I did mention i plugged the holes.. Is this ok? I copied the read me from rob rinnete or watever his name is website =)

so if the Check Engine light does come on, will my car boost right (10-8-10)?? or will i be in limp mode?? if i can boost right, i will just put the resistor on so that the Check Engine light will possibly be off.

Not every CEL code puts the car into limp mode. I don't believe the EGR code will do that.
