Can you say..chauvinist? Seriously man, get out from in front of the computer or TV (whichever you prefer) and get a girlfriend or at least have interactions with the oposite sex before you post on forums and reveal to the world just how much of a reject you are....

I agree. Most women are inattentive drivers at best and are reactive, not proactive about driving. They're typically oblivious to what's going on around them until the point at which it's too late to avoid a situation. I'm always checking my mirrors, which is how I picked up the street racers covering three lanes on 520 the other night and avoided changing lanes into the path of one of them.

I do the same when my wife is driving, watching 2 or 3 cars ahead and watching my side mirror periodically. She's a horrible judge of distance and speed when it comes time to cross a busy street or merge with moving traffic, and I've noticed this about all the women I've ridden with. They treat a car like an appliance or an accessory... "how I look in my car" is more important to them than their driving.

To be fair, there are some women who "drive like men", and there are plenty of men who "drive like women", but what it really comes down to is being aware of what's going on around you at all times and being proactive about avoiding potentially "bad" situations. For instance, don't travel with someone immediately next to you if you can avoid it, because whatever they have to react to, you will too. Don't travel with someone sitting in your blind spot either. Common sense **** which a lot of people seemingly lack.

90% or more of the time, if someone ahead of me is driving like a retard, it turns out to be a woman driver -- glued to a cell phone or adjusting her hair or makeup, more often than not. I'm not concerned with preserving the feelings of the women who do drive well. If they have a better sense of their driving skill than "I don't get tickets, therefore I'm a good driver", then they know better than to be offended by my comments. If they're in the second category, like Mark says... **** 'em. They're road hazards at best, and accidents waiting to happen at worst.

Accidents happen, she feels bad enough about the whole ordeal. There isn't a need to kick her while she's down.

Jimlabs post is right on the money!

If I did that to some one elses FD..... I just don't know what I'd do with myself.... The FD is not just any car. It's no longer in production and they are rare to begin with, let alone one in that condition.... That's why it hurts so many, so much.....

Thank God your g/f is ok. I hope this whole ordeal will put things in perspective for her when it comes to you and your relationship in the future.... May she never forget what she did.......

maybe in your part of the country. my g/f handled my car just fine. she's driven 2 different 500hp rwd cars and neither one was ever a problem. if you weren't such a jackass by assuming that it was automatically her fault, you'd see where she was ran into a guardrail by on elderly handicapped individual.

look dude, I'm not insensitive about your car....it was a sweet ride and what happened was tragic...

but in all reality, this isn't adding up: how can some grandma "run your g/f off the road into a guard rail?" can you explain that? are you sure your g/f wasn't talking on the cell phone and just not paying attention? sounds like an incredibly lame story to me

A lot of old people just don't pay attention. There have been a lot of instances where an old guy driving some Cadillac turns into my lane without looking. I'd have to either slam on my brakes or swerve around him to avoid contact. 9 out of 10 times they are completely oblivious to the fact that they almost caused an accident. I hate to make generalizations but based on my experience I would have to say a large percentage of elderly drivers shouldn't be on the road in the first place.
