today was hot and my A/C was on for the first time...

after i shut off my car, it sounds like something is bubbling...could it be the coolant? is this normal? temp guage shows normal.

Normal. It's vacuum pulling back coolant into the AST during heatsoak while the coolant system is still pressurized. You can pretty much eliminate the coffee pot sound by topping off coolant, eliminating or getting a metal AST, and swapping out coolant caps.

have you changed your coolant recently? i also had the same gurgling sounds when i changed my coolant and there was some air trapped in the cooling system. i had to "burp" the cooling system and it went away after that. anyway, i don't think it's major concern.

in my case it was leaky hose and bad ast cap.

if it happens mostly with ac use prior to shutdown, could be due to normal pressure loss with fans on. this drops boiling point a lot, an makes heat soak boiling at turbos more likely.

try not using ac, and let idle 2 minutes w/o fans before shutdown. should be full pressure, less boiling.

Yep! Since Mazda reduced the pressure of the cooling system with a recall and a change from 1.3bar to0.9 bar pressure cap, coolant boils at a lower temp. in the turbo bearing area.

I don't know - I had the same problem, and was told it was normal. Then, within three weeks of each other I had a coolant hose split, then a coolant line fracture. After both were replaced, no more bubbling noise.
