Exclamation my car is so slow!!!

Lately my car lost all of its oomph! I dont know what is wrong or what i should do. I will list the symptoms and i would appreciate any help you all can give me.
Ok, first of all, my boost hasnt been acting right. I can floor the car in 4th or 5th and the max. boost i will reach is 6 or 7 lbs. Its just not nearly as fast as it should be. While i am flooring it i can watch the speedo slowly climb upwards. Somebody please help. I am not sure how to pin point turbo related problems. I dont even know if it has something to do with the turbos. Everything looks and sounds fine. Just slow and low boost. Thanks alot for your help!!!

have you checked for a boost leak? Check the Y pipe intercooler connections, and then check the vacum hoses.

check for boost leaks, also, do you still have the stock pre-cat and main-cat? What is your mileage? Since you mention you're getting low boost in 4th and 5th gear, that sound like you're getting low boost on the primary.

check out this trouble shooting page for a step by step on things to check for:

good luck

edit: if it's not any of those things, it could be a clogged pre-cat or main-cat, although those tend to cause problems on the secondary, rather than the primary.

yes...I am still using the stock computer. I am not familiar with the diagnostic test. Is this something i can do myself or does it require a Mazda Special Service Tool, like the little computer thing that plugs in? THanks again!

I would start by replacing the pre-cat. At 100k+ miles, there is a good chance it's clogged up a bit, plus you'll get rid of some of that heat from under the hood.

will i have boost spike problems? I heard complaints of boost spiking after getting a downpipe. I only have intake right now so maybe that wont happen.

I don't think you'll have a problem with spiking since you'll still have the main cat and the stock ECU. Also keep in mind that it's possible that your main cat could be the problem and not the pre-cat (or both).

I have no idea how you tell if either one is clogged or not.
