My car is dead :(

Less than 1 week out of the shop and I hydroplaned into a wall. They want $18,800 to fix it

I almost made it 10 years.....not sure what insurance is going to do this time because it was my fault.

I guess I'm lucky to be alive and no one else was hit.

Just so you feel my pain, here are my mods - all done since last May. Hopefully I can salvage the parts at least and buy another car.

I think with my parts, I'm best off with another Rx-7. I have a LOT of money in it. I was shortly going to post my finalized project as soon as my wheels were in. It will be too much of a loss to sell those parts when they are so new.

It really sucks, the car was stunning with the work done to it. One of my tenants heard I wrecked my car and was "You wrecked your Ferrari???", the parking guy at the airport the other week was like "Is that the new Viper?..No,.A Mazda....Oh...Maserati...Very Nice". It was that nice and was just needing some wheels and final tuning. Maybe some new seats.

I can probably salvage everything except some body parts, suspension mods, and the cooling stuff up front. The intercooler thank god is intact.

I'm really bummed. I forewent a Viper last year to build my dream rx-7 for half the price (my goal). The bad thing is that I had an approved loan for the Viper but went with the Rx7 rebuild off my own credit line. There's 30k out of my home equity

Anyone have a blown Rx-7 they want to sell? Touring preferred

Holy **** Dave
I'm sitting here studying for my test in the computer lab and I just got bored and went to check the forum

I thought you blew the motor or something but this is frigen horrible. Wow I'm really really sorry. You have to be hurting big time over this. I can imagine if it happened to my car.

I'm just thinking of this. My car is really similar to yours. Would you want to work out a deal and take my car? I would feel really good about someone I know taking it. You could go get a compression test done on the new motor and see if you are happy and then we can take off my mods and put on yours, like a one day project just switching everything over.
I'm really just trying to be nice, not seeing this as an opportunity to sell my car. I think I could sell it easily and I was just about ready to seriously start advertizing it since I did everything I wanted to do to make it perfect.

If not, tell me exactly what you are looking for and I'll help you find one.

I know you are a responsible driver too I'm lucky nothing has happened to me. Again I'm really sorry but hopefully you'll be able to get the next one and make it just like your old one really soon.

Thanks for the offer. I have to wait and see what insurance is going to give me. I may be better off buying a car with a blown engine already whereas you have a new engine in it.

My adjuster is out today. My claim is already being controversial because of the money sunk into it but I've escalated the issue. This really sucks, it had just come together.

I'd really like to fix it if possible but I'm not confident Leftie and them can truly restore it. It's a horseshoe right now. I'll take a look at yours when we meet up.
