I am true believer FD3S have one of best chassic design , but compare to modern sports car
only thing miss is a modern Sport Abs

originally plan was to install series 6 Rx7 abs
after quick research and find out is near impossible to get correct part , I decide to go with aftermarket Motorsport abs

Share some of progress of my SCS Delta ABS install on my 1994 3 Rotor Rx7.
Basically everything is finishimg mock up ( this incl new brake hardline for rear , new abs unit sit at original location , adjustable Brake bias valve , pressure sensor ,ABS dial And indicatr)
Due to limit space at front hub , we decide to custom made ABS ring . We are still waiting this to be made ,
We estimate everything should finish up around end of MO

Some info on my build
is 20B NA street port , build by Scoot sport from Japan
Motor mount on stock. Modified subframe with custom pan
S2 Rx8 6MT 4.4 final drive with Cusco MZ LSD

i believe 20B NA street port is the all around best motor for street FD3S

here is some of track testing I done earlier this year

Good stuff! I did the same on my car, but for mounting the unit on the other side, and utilizing the factory rings with BMW M3 sensors.

Great work!

I thought about putting Series 8 4-channel ABS on my car, but I don't think it would be worth it.

Very cool.

What made you want to go with the s2 trans?

How is the street drivability? Stop and go traffic or going from traffic light to traffic light.

S2 is newest na transmission from Mazda and u can still buy it new , so it shift smooth and nice , I personally think no mater how new is stock 5MT unless u complete rebuild it , it will shift sluggish and this ruling the experience of
rx7 ownership
and 20b street port is perfect for street , more response and easier to drive compare to turbo setup

^ make sense.

my 26b isn't terrible to drive on the street and I think it could better with a plenum setup but I will sacrifice a little drivability for the coolness of slide throttle.

I was going to get another 26b built for the wife's SA but after seeing your post but a NA 20b might be a better option as we wouldn't have to build a LIM and UIM. I also already have a s2 trans I could use.

by using 20B NA , and i shift whole engine 15cm back ( u can see my engine sitting againt firewall) , whole combo not only lighter then 13BREW turbo and become true Front mid engine setup Front 47 rear 53. This really change cars dynamic handling at corner

I have 13B PP First Gen and 13B BP sec gen
Track car . This experience make me understand those 2 setup will never be street set up lol

here is short clip of some street driving and little pull , the clutch I use is Japanese ATS Carbon clutch ( single disc )
ATS Carbon clutch is a bit noisy but drive ability is amazing

Did a test drive without ABS, ( still wait on some fabrication part ) . Although I deleted brake factory proportioning valve, now my FD have 50/50 proportioning on brake , with 99 spec F/R brake setup I still have front hevey brake proportioning(car will still lock the front when hevey braking )
This prove my theory of stock brake system is really design very conservative, if u Put BBK on it usually will make it worse on performance 😅

I have 929 brake MC and Tilton MC now

Did a quick testing , all I can say I am impress
despite I still feel even delete the Rx7 proportion valve Make F/R at same bias Rx7 still have too much brake bias
however with AbS install I was able to have Peak G at 1.2 g and the curve is very sharp
let mean I don’t have manual adjust pressure with feet
next step is more rear brake bias

Some semi serious abs Track testing
997 GT3 buddy is having too much fun chasing 20B

as for abs +8 setting is too aggressive for high performance street tire
