Most Useful Gauges

Most Useful Gauges
What 3 gauges are the most useful for an FD w/ a downpipe. I already have a boost gauge.

oil temp-water temp-A/F-fuel pressure-exhaust temp etc...

Putting in a Saab DIN which has three gauge slots. What would be your choices to fill...

Thanks

EGT stands for Exhaust Gas Temp.

I vote for H20 temp, EGT and Fuel Pressure. Unless you buy a wide band O2 sensor and readout for the A/F it's useless. The stock O2 sensor is very narrow band and it isn't very accurate for tuning these motors, however, a wide band will give you great information in real time. I would only recommend Oil temp if you plan on a lot of road course driving, most other applications, ie drag racing, you're only making 10-14 second runs so the likely hood of getting the oil too hot is minimal, and the egt will be more valuable in tuning your mixtures. As for the fuel pressure, good to know data that the fpr hasn't gone ***** on you mid pass!
Just my vote

I would go with. Boost, EGT, and water temp, unless you have some other way to monitor water temp (i.e. Power FC, etc.) then I would go with fuel pressure or oil temp. Just my $.02

I would suggest a Greddy or any good quality brand-Just be sure it's electric-the mechanical ones require routing a fuel line into the cockpit, in which case it will need to be a stainless line and it's a pain to do. The electrics are very accurate and far easier to install.

it shows water temp, boost, intake air temp, injector duty,knock,tach,speed,o2 voltage, batt voltage, and some other useful stuff.... but i would still get a boost gauge and an egt or pyrometer to be safe. you'll know just about everything your car is doing . fuel press would be nice too.
