More reliable?

Has anybody found out how to make 1993 RX7's longer lasting? My friend had rx7 and I was thinking of buying one too, but he had to change whole engine and tranny at like 50,000 miles, so I am not sure anymore. Anybody know how to fix the heating problems?

Yes, move to antartica with your seven. No more problems! Well, except all that ice might freeze all your fluids if you ever leave it outside, and all the air in your tires will hide in the middle as if they were flat, so you have to blow torch em to expand the molecules. Damn, I guess you just can't win! Well the truth is though, with the type of driving we do with these cars, you can do many things to make your engine last, but sooner or later, its gonna go. Still, if your dedicated like most around here, we will tell you it's well worht it.

Use the search feature and search reliability mods, and you could also consider water injection for insurance, not for and excuse to overboost.

Good Luck!

Sounds like your "friend" is an irresponsible owner that can't take care of a ******* car.

OOOO....Harsh....now the tranny I understand but there are guys who have had their engine go at 50-60k. Take it easy. There no reason to totally turn away someone from the car because his friends messed up. We have all heard horror stories form a friend. Mastacow's car caught on fire and I'm sure he took pretty good care of t, and was at least smart enough to carry the fire estinguisher which saved his car. **** happens.

On a side note, I'm happy to report this is my 100th post. Avatar time!

Yeah, but at least DAILY this same thread gets posted here. Someone just magically finds the forum and posts a silly question without even looking around... and it's always "why don't rx7's go past 60K miles, or why arent they reliable"... Blah.

there's a sticky right at the top of this page that reads "NEWBIES, PLEASE SEARCH........."

I wasn't being an ***... But ban me? Ha.

Get a good radiator, do the fan mod, install a downpipe, AST and run a 30/70 water/coolant mixture. Happy?

jdhuegel1,

Shouldn't that be 30/70 coolant/water?
