I was in a Miata the other day and the shift **** was
nice and also very short.

Will the Miata **** fit on our 7's?

 

yup, i have one, and i also cut the shift lever down about two inches, then used a dye set to groove some new threads. the miata **** screws right on, and the shorter lever still has a nice factory feel to it. i would recommend doing this if you have other things to mod before investing in a short shifter kit.

 

rx7speed811: I'd heard this but couldn't confirm it with any dealers. I had looked into Miata parts info and some stuff is categorized into 2 or 3 year groups. Since I didn't have any idea what year Miata **** to get, I gave up on the idea...until now.

 

If anyone is interested I have a beautiful mazdaspeed shiftknob, brand new, still in the box for I will sale. Is carbon fiber. Most venders carry it if you want to to see a pic.

I think the models years of Miata shift **** to order are the year before they went to 6 speeds.

I talked to a guy who said that he has put in a miata lever? (dont know the name) insted of a short shift kit. The mazdaspeed dude in sweden said that it should fit.

 

i think any miata knobbie will fit. the thread and pitch on most mazda cars is the same, in my experience with playing musical shift *****.
