Anyone have any idea what this guy was talking about? when he said that i was just like...."o ok cool....." and in my head "dumbass..." so anyways for 2g's i really didnt care what it had done since i saw makers inpection paperwork.

You would probably be better off asking in the "Far East" forum about the chip.

sounds like a load of JDM crap...

But as Kyle said, you'd be better off asking the Far East section about this.

you have never blown off one of my questions and have been very helpfull to me so i am not trying to sound rude, but why would I post in the far east forum when like a bajillion more people read here. Is it because you think maybe that this, if even real, may be a japo thing?

thanks

My bet would be that he meant it had a reprogrammed or "re-chipped" ecu.

i did realize that once on the sanyo (toll road type place were everyone goes like 100mph) that i hit like 1.2kg boost which is bad (i think)! I have hks dual lookin intakes, down pipe and exhaust.

still though i dont think that i should be hitting like 12-13lbs of boost (if i did my conversions right). When i saw that it boosted up that high i backed off right away.

that is what i was thinking because he dropped ECU around a few times when we were talking. It just really didnt seem like he really knew what he was talking about, he mainly just did maintanence stuff to this car. (which is good thing )

Over in Japan, there are a lot of small tuners who rechip ECU's for various cars which people here in the USA never ever hear about. Someone more familiar with the area is more likely to have more knowledge about some of the lesser known tuners/ecu programmers.

Don't most tuners mark the ecu somehow when they reprogram them? Have you looked at the ecu?

its behind in the passenger kick panel in USDM LHD RX-7's, i think its the same with RHD, pull of the passenger side kick panel and you will see a metal box back there, if you dont see it, its on the other side.

If you truly are hitting boost numbers that high (i.e. your boost gauge is reading properly), I would suggest that you have some sort of ECU changes/replacement on the car. Otherwise, you would be running into fuel cut.

Fuel cut does basically what it says. It cuts fuel when the car enters a situation in which it deems "unsafe" (i.e. too much boost for the stock ECU). When this happens, the car pretty much looses all power for a few seconds then returns to normal operation. You'll know if it happens as it feels as if the car died for a few seconds.

1.2 kg/cm^2 is around 17-17.5 psi, way way too high for your setup. I would avoid going wide open throttle until you can get that under control.

are you sure that your conversions are right? that is crazy high! i would think that my gauge is bad before i would think that i am really boosting that high. the gauge i have looks to be like 10 years old and at idol the needle wobles pretty bad (at a good vacuum readying though)
