M2 a good intake?

I'm working on buying a used intake for my '93 FD and I've searched all I can stand on the subject, but can find no definative answers... As far as I can tell, it looks to be a good system, but am I better off getting a new Greddy Airinx system? What are the pro's/con's to each from those who have tried similar sytems? My car is bone stock except for a DP and Fluidyne radiator and I'm about to pull the trigger on a Apexi Power FC/ commander.

Thanks for your imput!

The best cold air intake for the FD is the one you already have. It just needs to be modified so that it supplies an additional source of cool air. I sell a kit fo $70 (cheap) if you are interested. Don't waste several hundred dollars on something that isn't as good as what you have now

M2 is also out of business. So, you'd have to find a used one for sale. SR Motorsports also offers a sealed box intake similar to the older M2 and RXFashion boxes.

Probably true. I would only replace the airbox with the M2 Unit if you need the extra space the smaller M2 box provides (for the mounting of a larger intercooler or single turbo conversion).

I second that. I've seen data where several intakes were tested. Including the M2 style, hot air intakes. The overall winner was the stock box as far as heatsoak was concerned. Now with adams air improvement IMO is the winner.

I have an M2 intake but I need the room

In addition to Adam's idea would be the Racing Beat intake peice. Unfortunately it's made of paper thin plastic instead of fiberglass or carbon fiber. For $100 it should have been a decent thickness and not crumble like a leaf after it dries up with heat and age. Works well when new though. I ended up throwing mine in the trash.

I have the HKS RS, and it does look nice! I think Adam's intake mod would be great for those with GReddy smic, arc smic or blitz smic. I only have the HKS RS, because I want a ASP medium later.

I don't like the RB duct. You have to do some cutting to install it. Then you wind up with something that doesn't look stock, and robs air from the intercooler. In addition, it makes removing/reinstalling the airbox more difficult. The trash is a good place for it .
