low running voltage

my fd is running at 13.3 to 13.7 when at idle and driving.

i cant find the average running volt, it should be 14.5 or so somthing.

is there any ideas on what would cause this low voltage.

any help would be great.

thanks

What location are you using for the reading?

13.8 is what mine runs at iirc...

14.5 seems to high.

That's perfectly fine. Depending on what accessories are on (fans, ac, etc.) you'll see as low as 13. 12.8 or below would be too low.

My assumption is these readings are off of the battery.

I believe 14.5 is around the max you want to see your system running at. Higher than that and you can start to cook you battery.

only running radio and parking lights.

that voltage is fine, I am at 13.6v - 13.8v on my pfc . Like Rotary Dream said if your voltage gets too high will be hard on your battery...

That voltage is in spec. However if you see it fall or want extra capacity, you can opt for one of our high output alternators which are on sale currently.
