Not to be a complete noob, or ricer, but I was just wondering why it is so detrimental to the engine to have it exit without going through a cat, and would it be the same problem if you went with an electric cutout placed before the cat right after the headers:

also, would it still be a rice thing to do?

Not yet. We just finally got it rolling last week then had an ECU issue on the dyno. Hopefully swap in a new ECU today. Shooting for dyno time on the 23rd. I can't wait to hit the track at night and put it on the 2-step.
If it were my car I'd run it under the car but it was like that when it came to me. And it's not nearly as obnoxious as I thought it would be.
It's a street port with a T76. Obviously the liquid-air IC. Big ice box in the back. Certified chrome-moly cage, all lexan. Other than that nothing real exotic.

No, this is the new RX-7 club. One shalt not stifle thine brother's "artistic views" by flaming him for being a god damned ricer.
Is calling a spade a spade a bannable offense yet? Or does it just get you ostracized?
I didn't build a pport anything, but then again I do like to drive my FD on the street. The OP isn't building a pport anything either, so you're still not making any sense.

I just joined this forum, but apparently every place has their share of tools. And by the way, I could careless if you think I'm a ricer. Your opinion is worthless to me. You know nothing about me. It's the fact that your pathetic self needs to repeatedly call me a ricer in multiple different posts that annoys me.
Thanks everyone else for their inputs, I have more insight on what I plan to do

Here's my ricemobile..... only running 13 psi on this pull.
As mentioned, custom A spec 4 inch diesel-luv exhaust with two magnaflow resonators, one mid one rear, and a 5 inch tip. I'm in the process of having sean modify an Apex'i GT Spec so that I can retain the 4 inch piping but have the ability to run their Active Tailpipe Silencer to keep things sane around town.
