Loudest Freaking Possible Exhaust System?

I know this may sound retarded, but I was just wondering what setup sounds nice and is also pretty loud...

What diameter tubing do the Apexi N1 catback come in? Do most FD people change out the cat pipe? What diameter tubing do the HKS Downpipes come in?

Also, could anyone list out a bunch of the best vendors to buy these systems and other stuff?

I've been searching a lot of things the past few days, but I figured I'd just come out and just ask this question...

If you want loud, remove the cats.* Large diameter piping and a simple canister type muffler.

*If you want to remove the cats and not blow your engine, do some homework and make sure you don't boost creep or overboost. Also, you're in Cali so you'll have to do something illegal to keep the car on the road.

i have the APEXi N1 single tip with a midpipe and it is way too loud for the street (although i drive it on the street anyways). It's 3" up to just before the muffler where it steps up to 4" i think. HKS downpipes are 3" for the most part. i know they must make a 4". Personally I don't like the raspyness that comes with the midpipe and I'd like to get a resonator

The loudest setup with still a decent tone I think would be downpipe, straight-through or resonated midpipe and apexi gt spec exhaust. This will be LOUD but wont be tin can or raspy loud.

That's exactly what I had on my car.

Really, really loud. Extremely loud.

One of the last people on earth I would expect to complain about a loud car (a local FD guy) said my car was too loud.

Sounded, good, but too loud.

The GT Spec has since been sold and replaced with RB Dual Tip.

Still sounds good, but not so loud.

Loud exhaust = total RICE=fail.

Do NOT do this. Go get a Honda instead.

Aside from disagreeing with the person's intentions, it is his car. If he wants to cheapen it by making it a loud car that attracts attention for its sound rather than its looks or performance, that is his business.

Sometimes its better to say to say nothing, if you have nothing good to say.

To original author, using methods like that to gain attention will bring about attention by your local police, your neighbours, and possibly theives, who will easily be able to find your car, and steal it.

Try for a simple yet elegant look, or buy a great alarm and/or storage area/garage.

Good luck. Post pics of your car.

lol I figured I'd get ricer comments from people. But here's a little background...

I have a 300zx with a 2.5" Dual pipe exhaust system, which is considered rather big. It's fairly loud, but I've heard systems that are louder. For the FD, I plan on keeping the stock sound system rather than changing everything out like I did on the Z... so I don't mind the exhaust being louder.

Not to mention, I won't be driving it enough to be worried about the 96db whatever limit it is in California.

So my logic is I want louder if possible, but I don't want bad-sounding loud... Does anyone know if they make the Apexi N1 in 4"? Would it be better to leave the stock cat on, and just do Downpipe and Catback for reliability purposes?

Here's my Z for reference:

Loudest exhaust note i heard, was when i testing to see if my main cat was clogged, already had a down pipe installed. So i took the cat off and just drove around the area with just a down pipe. It was LOUD ! So if you want real loud, just remove the exhaust and just run a down pipe. LOL

Apexi N1 dual exhaust is another loud exhaust, and looks bad ***

you can look around for wonder1ands exhaust. That is by far the loudest ******* thing I've ever hear. It was an oval canister with two pipes coming out. Not loud looking but Jesus. I was racing him in an industrial like 6 years ago and I actually took the time to roll up my windowsd between shifts. If you want loud...then that is your best bet.

It was an N1 dual, but I think it might have been an earlier design. I remember a single oval canister with two small pipes coming out.

you have NO idea how loud his exhaust is xD following behind him is deafening, you have to pull ahead to be able to hear yourself.

See, I would have rolled up the windows because I was racing and open windows adds wind resistance and makes you slower
