Lost the flap at the gas station
I was filling my car and when I removed the "filler", I had to force it due to its springs. When it was removed, I realized I didn't have the "flap" anymore. I never saw the flap falling, I suppose it is now in the fuel tank.
What should I do?

Go to www.FuelFillerFlap.com and order the universal one, shouldn't be too hard of an install.

So you guys really have the flap I'm talking about on your FD3S? I was thinking that maybe I never had the flap, I can't remember.
And what about the flap that is now in my gas tank? Is the gas tank difficult to remove?
I really am pissed, I didn't need that problem.
And GoodfellaFD3S... this time, I've searched the forum.

Yeah just get the filler neck from Mazda or someone here on the forum. To alleviate some of your worry, down near the tank there's another flapper valve made of plastic that allows fuel to enter the tank but not slosh back up the filler neck.
I'd just replace that assembly, you can probably get a used one for nothing. The 3 bolts around it hold it to the body, on the other end it's hose clamped to the filler hose to the tank.

good point, just for the record, my car is and always has been a california car (wont be much longer tho) and i have one. i have a feeling that the OP's is just gone tho.
if you take out the fuel pump you will have a pretty good bit of room to look around on that side of the tank, maybe get one of those flexible magnets on a stick and run it around the bottom of the tank and down the filler.

My 93 JDM does not have a flap, what is the worry? I doubt any fuel will make it up that far and if it did the cap is in the way. Either way I know for sure my 7 has no cap it looks just like yours
