Loosing interest

Is is just me or are there more out there that is just getting tired of dumping money into their FD and not being able to make use of it, I have had mine for about 5 years now, I love the car but due to my location with the lack of FD owners, and nowhere to let it loose other than the Hwy, I am starting to think about just selling it then buying another if I ever move back to Cali.

I am to the point that if somebody offered me good money I would just say take it...

Guess I am just tired of not being able to let it loose at a track and letting it do what is was built for....

Daym Alaska...lol...maybe move to Hawaii next...

a race car is relatively useless without a race track, but i say don't sell it. Im almost certain you will regret it later. Unless you desperately need the money

nooooooo

Kai, you have one of the nicest FDs on the forum. you'll totally miss and regret it if you sell it. Even if you get another one, it'll never be the same. This one's got crap loads of your sweat and tears...

i bet you'll appreciate ur own work a lot more once you enter it to car shows. Seal off your garage and save it until you move back to cali. pretend you never had it, and one day when you pop open your garage... you'll be like... "damn.. that's nice. i'm glad i kept it"

Let it loose = not to lose but the to let it loose as in WOT runs and take corners or let it spread it's legs or basically drive it hard...

Move back then make you decision. I'm sure you won't be as close to selling her as your you are now.

I'll tell you one thing, the number of nice FDs out there is dwindling by the day. Most of the ones I come upon are in really, really, really bad shape. If you sell yours, you'll have a very hard time finding another one as well cared for......

Or you could ship it to me and i can take care of it here in FL....

On a serious note though, I have often contemplated the samething you are, and if I could get back just 50% of what i have into it, roughly $30000, I would take it. I would move onto something with a bit more daily driviability, like i dunno a NSX

I think a lot of us go through those stages of not enjoying it. Give yourself a month and if you're still not happy then I say sell it. It's only a car.

I probably will keep it, as I said in another thread the car is going to the grave with me...lol...but on a serious note I probably feel this way since I have not done any mods to the car for a while, just waiting on my new motor to install and make more power and maybe I won't be feeling this way...lol..

Nope, I'm not tired of the money I'm currently spending on my FD. But:

1) I don't spend anywhere near the money on mine that you have on yours.

2) I don't mess around on the highways. I do autocrosses and track days. That's when I really started to enjoy driving my FD. Isn't there anyone doing autocross up there?

Dave
