Yea man I remember you. I have been talking to Jim about getting a get together going with just shop people, or starting our own FD bbq at JPR at some point. We should do it.

Thief eh? The car cost me a chunk of my money, but it took me over 2 years just to get the parts made, so I had time to save up. Have you looked at the photos yet on the link I mentioned, I think that shows I am not jon. But to make sure, would you like me to take a picture of the car with like a magazine on the hood so you know its me, or what? I live to please

Gotta say that's bad as hell!!! I hate body kits but that one is OK. Take the goofy guages off the dash and it's a real winner.

After this forums feedback the gauges will be taken off the dash. I am in the process of having a dash overlaid in CF, and I am going to put the gauges in the pass side airbag space. As for the tach placement, I dont want to get rid of it ;( but I am not sure where to hide the boheemeth. I am currently trying to get some sponsorship things from Auto Meter so keeping as many of their CF gauges in place as possible helps out. The feedback has made its first change.

I can dispell any claims of it not being mine if someone wants to stop the conspiracy theory and ask me something pointed? I think I should sound different then fd4life guy. Thanks.

Tell me what the FTW part means first. I feel like your trying to screw me somehow based on earlier posts you made. FTW mean like **** The Women or something?

Trust me, I have no problem comprehending your sentences my friend. Again, if you go to the link you will see me with the car. I could not have known how to get in there!! I will try and get my sister to snap some shots with me in it later today. Why do you want a picture of the title? Do you think I stole it and put it on the forum? VIN on the car is JM1FD3319P0206464. Maybe that helps?

O.k, can we end this thing already? I am giving my yes that the car belongs to him (met him already and got a call from him today). Why is it so hard to believe that this car is his? He is not the only one that has spent thousands of dollars on his ride. I guess I will be getting the same treatment when my car is completed and pics posted.

Its a bit much, but the overall execution is pretty good. I would have to see it in person to really judge though. As for the gauges on the dash, the only one that looks bad is the tach. Most of the guys here prefer or have dash mounted gauges via the flyrx7 pod, myself included. But having another tach is a little overboard, seeing as I doubt your car rev's past 9k rpm, but again, Id have to see it in person.

As for the lambo door haters....I hate rice, but for some stupidass reason, I like lambo doors

You're very right...it's venting that's the main advantage. If you saved a pound or two with the CF hood over the stock aluminum one, I'd be considerably impressed.

As far as the doors, there's only one person I know in the world (yes, you read that right) that makes full, 100% carbon fiber doors: carbon man. They weigh under 4 kg per door (8.8 lbs), which is about a full 10 kg (22 lbs) lighter than the steel door shell. The doors are FULL replicas, ie they have the carbon fiber anti-intrusion bar also made in carbon. They run $2500 a pop, shipping from Australia not included.

How do I know he's the only one? Manufacturers and race teams from all over the world have come to HIM to make CF parts for their race cars, including Porsche cup cars, and the Bathurst FD, which dominated the competition

Anyone else's doors are fiberglass w/ some CF overlay, and I know he didn't get the doors from carbon man.

~Ramy

PS: The doors feel a lot lighter b/c the lambo door kit has shocks to help the door go up easier. They feel lighter even w/ the regular doors. I know...I have lambo doors

there are at least two companies in japan that make full CF doors (one does wet and dry, iirc). I've seen one in the flesh at an autosalon - very nice work

Thanks FDNewbie

Quality comes at a price.

The FD doors are one of the hardest and most complex moulding jobs I have done, but it was worth the effort.

sorry

testing my memory... iirc, it wasn't exactly the same as OEM - they were/are making them primarily for time attack circuit FDs - so some of the finer details weren't there. I could be wrong though, I'll see if I can find the company.

As far as I know, fd4life has a 3rd gen. "A" means one! It's red with tan interior and some carbon overlayed parts inside. From what he has told me, the motor is blown and the car is at the shop. This was quite a while ago! If he owned businesses and has 3 FD's, getting this car back on the road should not have been a problem.
