Actually in order to be that large, they're prob multi-piece rims, which makes them VERY heavy. I'd guess in the 35 lb range each. I have what's considered "lightweight" 3-piece wheels, and they're 26 lbs a pop.

I know you already calculated this, but how you did it wasn't too clear for me (I always had to write out the individual steps in Algebra & Calc to follow it through haha). So here's the full breakdown:

- Stock hatch + glass = 53 lbs
- Stock glass = 23 lbs
- Stock hatch = 30 lbs

- VIS CF hatch + lexan = 26 lbs
- Lexan = 12 lbs
- VIS CF hatch = 14 lbs

- Stock hatch --> VIS CF hatch = 16 lbs weight saving
- Stock glass --> lexan = 11 lbs weight saving

Compared to stock hatch & glass:
- VIS CF hatch + lexan = 26 lbs --> 27 lbs total weight saved
- VIS CF hatch + stock glass = 37 lbs --> 16 lbs total weight saved

Cost of each lb saved (shipping cost of hatch not included, since its paid for in both cases):
- VIS hatch ($450) + lexan ($229 + $100+ shipping) = $779/27 lbs = $28.85 per lb saved
- VIS hatch ($450) + stock glass (free) = $450/16 lbs = $28.13 per lb saved

Of course, maximum weight saving is via the lexan option, yet at the expense of street drivability for the reasons previously mentioned.
Whether you're running the VIS hatch or a full non-streetable hatch (which is only 8 lbs vs. 14 lbs), it's physically impossible to come up w/ anything even NEAR 100 lbs, let alone 200 lbs.

We predict the car near 2300-2400 lbs now
The sheet metal on the car does NOT weigh 400 lbs, no matter how you add it. I've shipped quarter panels, bumpers, fenders, and hoods. You'd be hard pressed to save 200 lbs by removing ALL sheet metal, both bumpers, and the hood. And that's assuming you remove them completely and don't replace them w/ anything. In most cases, however, the CF parts weigh very close to the originals (Mazda tried saving weight EVERYWHERE, which is why our panels dent and ding so freakin easily). Thus, don't forget the weight of the parts you're replacing w/ CF. I think you'd be lucky if you lost more than 50 lbs, to 75 lbs at the MOST. That's still respectable, but you gained that in the rear wheels alone so...

But hey, I respect the work. Not for me (too extreme/overboard), but I respect the effort nonetheless.

and ramy decimates all ...

it is a very sharp car, very well built, very clean, i'd also like to see some closeup shots, but you do need to get your facts straight, just reading through your rundown of weight savings i could already tell you were WAY off and i have no idea how much the individual parts weigh, but personally i think its pretty obvious that an FD's door doesn't even weigh 100lbs, let alone net 100lbs in weight saved...

An FD door weighs about 52 - 55 lbs, including glass and all components within the doorshell (lock mechanism, window regulator, motor, etc).

A quarter panel weighs about 25 lbs IIRC.

A nice looking 7 but a bit too much for my taste. Yes stickers could have been better and better placed. However it's one of the best wide body kits I have seen.

I went to hot import nights and this car was there. The car is not put together very nicely...some body panels are off and the wing takes away from the whole car. The interior is VERY done up. It has more guages and afcs than you know what to do with. It has a tach which ruined it for me. It has 2 big or 4 small bottles i dont remember which. But i guess he knew how guys were at the show and when i tried to talk to him he told me his car was making 900hp on his t-78 setup...and then when he put his 3 rotor in it would be like 1300 and i pointed out that a t-78 is to small for a 3 rotor...he said no and said if he went bigger it would make over 1500hp and that was to much. He was nice enough to talk to me atleast. And im not trying to bash here...the car got ALOT of attention...atleast it got attention over that gay team emotion FD with the new vertex kit.

Austin, by virtue of the panels being CF, the fitment MUST be off. You can't sand, shave, build, bend, or stress CF. It sits as it is, no changes. So it either fits perfectly or it doesn't

It looks nice in pics, very show oreintated. Everything said about CF and the fittment is true. The true test is to see it up close. I also agree that ACTUAL carbon fiber panels can deceiving. Who made them and how many layers of cloth was used? are they fiberglass reinforced? How many flaws are there? I also agree its more trouble than its worth and almost impossible to get perfect fitting pieces with CF. Plus the weight savings is rediculously underminded in this specific application. Its for looks, and that is really all its good for. I really like CF accents, not CF overboard. I bet it wins lots of shows though.

Well, I tend to agree with the last few guys. Way too much for me. Especially the vinyl. They give 10+ hp each, so I guess it's okay.

Dam, me like!! Very nice wide stance - very low - very good!!

Although I am not into lambos, they actually go very well with the overall look of the kit. Would really like to see some close up shots and also a shot of the rear. Want to see how the kit was integrated into the car back there.

Dam fine job..well done, sir.

Ill start with the most flattering one about me dying----haha.
Guys,
Thanks a lot for the weight numbers, I was obviously off, thats what I get for guessing and not using a scale. I had trouble lifting the stock FD door, but could lift the carbon ones with a pinky. I guessed 100, it looks like someone has it near 60 something with all the components? I also had trouble lifting the rear hatch and the one i got was fully not streetable and uses lexane, but again I guess I overstretched. The panels were also all very light, compared to the removed sheet metal. How much would the hood save? So let the debate begin over how weight has been shed, that is important for me to know.

The wing is consistent with the actual race proven GT wing on the RE Amemiya car in Japan, so what RE did not think took away from the car, I did not either. It has 2 bottles in the rear, one for the ntercooler sprayer and one for the nitrous. I would neverrrrr claim 900 hp, look earlier in the post to the half of that at 450 without nitrous. I still do not feel a T-78 is to large for a 13B, it rides real nice actually. 1500hp? I wont even give that a comment. The green emotion car owned by Jeff Ritucci has consistently beat mine at the shows so I give him credit.
