little boost issue.

when i nail it, whatever boost psi it spikes (example 15psi) it always drops by about 2 psi and will hold it. is there anyway to spike and hold whatever boost it is spiking? i would guess if there was a leak it would not hold as much as it does. usually spikes 14.5 and holds 12.5

What are your mods? You may not have enough flow to hold the boost that high. For example, in stock form the car doesn't have enough flow to hold 10 PSI through to redline. So the stock boost pattern is more like a 10-8-10-8.

My car used to do the same thing. It would always shoot up to the set boost level (ex. 14psi) then drop to 10 psi. I always thought it was my turbos not holding but recently I pulled my motor and found my 15k mile reman was in terrible shape.

Given your mods, I would wager some restriction in your exhaust or possibly and issue with your boost control. What do you have controlling your boost now?

Absolutely you can have restriction with aftermarket parts. For instance, the older HKS Dragger was even more restrictive than the stock exhaust, even though the cannister was huge.

I would start by seeing if you can make some adjustments on the Profec.

interesting.......... ...........well i could not imagine that the down pipe or mid pipe are the restriction. which leaves the racing beat single tip. any thoughts on that....? ive tried messing with the boost controller only to find that the higher i spike, the higher it will hold......
btw, it a m2 down pipe with a megan racing midpipe

Are the boost restrictor pills still in or out? You need them in if you are shooting for boost pressure that high.
