leaky primary rail

im almost done with my car ive been stopping fuel leaks for the past week.

I just replaced the fuel pulsation damper thingy (it was shooting fuel out the top like it was its job)

Now im getting fuel coming from the top of the primary rail and somewheres behind it (against the LIM)..I have new O-rings in and I also tried the trick using aluminium tape to 'fatten' things up a bit...still no luck

So what should I do...I got some extra 850ccs lying around that I wasnt gonna mod in until i had the car running. If I did this mod would the leaks go away

the primary injectors do go bad and leak sometimes, so that might be the prob, but your car wont run right with 850 primarys unless you have a programable ecu

you might as well do it then if you already have the injectors and have to go digging in there anyway.

alum tape???? you need to find out if they are leaking from the body or the o-rings/fuel block

Well i found the leak...its coming out from the top of the injectors (where the plastic meets the rail)

I popped the injectors out and the O rings inside were filthy and I cleaned them and it seems 85% better but there is still some tiny tiny bit of fuel coming out when I prime my fuel system...I let it run for over a minute, I dont get any pooling of fuel but some wetness occurs on the top of the rail.

is this ok...or what should I replace??

obviousboy,
Were you having any symptoms other than a fuel smell. I am trying to diagnose a problem i am having with running rich, backfiring, poor gas mileage and low boost

What your describing sounds like a very common problem with the FD injectors. The plastic around the top, which includes the prongs for the electrical connector, breaksdown and begins to leak. The only solution I have seen is to replace the injectors.

You should be able to run the fuel pump with the engine off to see precisely where the leak is. If it is the plastic cap, its game over, time for new injectors.
