Large SM Intercooler Duct

Got my Pettit SM Large Intercooler duct in today and boy is it a beauty. This is my second one I have got from Jeff in the last 4 years and their quality has really gone up on these. Very reasonably priced. I was going to glass my own but at this price the time to do it would cost me more.

So If you have a Large stock mount IC and don't want to dick around for duct - call Jeff at Pettit.

It's too bad it doesn't fit the SS Autochrome IC's. Those are a copy of my Med IC not the large.

Actually another member got one to fit using that duct. Only thing is you have to do a battery relocation or use the Oddessey.

What's the point in having a medium IC if you have to relocate the battery?

You don't. To use a medium intercooler with a LARGE duct, you have to relocate the battery.

The point is it works. Plus with mine it still rubs against the battery. I could shift it over but the it looks ugly and wrong. Thats why most buy TurboJeff battery tray, even your partner Damian bought one. So instead of buying that you could use that money to buy the relocation kit supplies.
Doesnt really matter members are already making XS ducts, but this looks cleaner.

Doubt it. Besides the different dimensions, the Greddy sits at more of a forward angle than the others.

Not massproduced. All, so far, have been one-off custom deals. Even with the fab work for duct, the total is still about 1/5 the cost of the others.

2 members who make the ducts.

TwinTurbo_SE7EN (made a Fiberglass version)
Rx7_Nut13B (made an aluminum version)
Fritts (designed one out of fiberglass but not sure if he is selling them)

well Twin Turbo Seven stopped making them and I am about to be done with my fiberglass version. Chuck (Rx7 Nut) makes an aluminum version but imo I don't think its a great design. Well once I get some pics of the progress of mine I will post them and see if i can get some interest. Once I get mine done and make a mold I won't have any problem mass producing these things. Also once its done I might alter it some to work with the Greddy SMIC

$195 shipped to your door. No fuss, no special pictures or paperwork needed, just good Pettit business

You are correct Boosted, it does fit.

And here is another fine IC that this duct fits perfectly. How do I know, well I bought this one too. Also it costs a fraction of what the other guy wants for one of the same size that you can't get replacement parts for if you ever need them.

You guys are funny. You should put a big Ebay sticker across the top of your front windshield, maybe on the door. I see they used those horrid cast end tanks on the one in the picture above as well.

I think the point you're missing here is if their morals allow them to lie in order to steal a design and sell copies of it, it wasn't just mine that they copied, then what makes you think they have morals when it comes to rebuilding a motor or other work? I can't imagine someone that has no compunctions about stealing IP would, say, feel guilty about swaping your good rotors for some beat up ones during a rebuild, or housings, or charge for new gaskets and just reuse the old ones etc? Hey they can sell your rotors to someone else for less, it's good for the consumers.

Anyone that would put on a charade about wanting to sign an agreement to become a reseller so they could makes copies of parts under the table while lying about sending the agreement back is clearly the type of mechanic you see on the evening news consumer specials. They were too sleazy to even pony up the money to buy one IC that they intended to copy, instead they wanted to borrow it. Good business practices my butt. If you really believe that enjoy your shift at the Golden Arches.
