Odometer Repair Assistance

Forum goers...looking for some Odometer repair help. I am currently on the third iteration of this repair and I am seeking a permanent fix.

First trial:

Classic story, odometer stopped working. Pulled it apart and replaced the parts C1 and C3 and cleaned up corrosion and gunk. Odometer started working again and all was good until it wasn't. Few weeks later it stopped working and I was back at square one.

Second trial:

Opened up again and replaced C1 and C3 capacitors again. Noticed a little corrosion from the first job, double checked the exact mF and voltage specs from the OEM ones and made sure the polarity placement was correct with the capacitors. Re-cleaned the entire board and noticed that when I re-soldered the board back in, the pin at X1 snapped off slightly (or so I thought), so it was not protruding very high. Basically I had no idea if these were even replaceable, so I soldered together a few ends of new capacitor legs to create a new post and soldered that onto the OEM pin at X1 (I was worried it was not long enough to touch the plastic circuit board, as this post (X1) appears to be the only post that directly touches the back blue plastic circuit board). After the "fix" things were working just fine again.

Third Trial:

I did have the car parked for a few months and did nothing with it. Turned the key yesterday and started her up for a warm up session and the odometer was working...then cut out again. Opened it up to find the following various corrosion areas (took pics of the entire board, both sides)

Hand up...I do not claim to be nowhere near a soldering expert. Curious if the brand of capacitors I used were not good or if there was operator error? I picked them up from a local electrical parts supplier and the brand appears to be "JACKCON". Or maybe I just did not repair enough capacitors and those ones just keep bursting, but from the last two repairs the other capacitors seemed to look ok.

I also have noticed that the pins in the white circular piece in the back of the speedo are getting worn and slightly bent. Not sure if there is a way to replace these at all? On the last photo you can see that the pin X1 appears to have actually slid down deeper and has appeared out the bottom of the white cylinder, whereas I thought the piece broke off the end.

Regardless, any and all feedback is welcomed. Thanks in advance for the help.
