How to make Speedo needle go back to 0?????

Well I was screwing with my gauge cluster cause the speedo would wobble at all speeds. I unplugged the cluster and cleaned general parts in there(other bad parts in it). I plugged it in and drove and the speedo woudl fly up to 140mph when I was only at like 30mph. I figured I didn't plug it in all the way. Now the thing is stuck at 120mph while parked and doesn't bounce since I plugged it in fully.

I was thinking maybe disconnect the speedo cable from the tranny and turn it from there hoping it will bring the needle back to 0. You think this will work?? or will I have to remove the front plate of the cluster and manually push it back?

Did you remove the needle when you were messing with the cluster? How much force did you use? What exactly did you do to the cluster?

I removed the cluster completely.I was trying to clean the contacts for the light switch since it wasn't working. I unhooked the needle by the clip on the side.
I didn't break anything during install. I think the driving with it half in there pushed the speedo off.

Hm, I don't know what to tell you. A lose cable wouldn't cause the needle to fly all the way up.

I was told by Mazda(if thats worth anything) after replacing a speedo cable, that when the needle bounces it is a sign that the gear in the guage is nearing the end of its life

You think if I move it back to 0 by physically pushing the needle down it will fix it?

A loose cable can sometimes cause the wobbling needle.

I put it back in fully and it worked fine but started from 120 instead of 0

You'll probably have to remove the speedo and mess with some of the gears to get it reset to "0". Mine starting ticking a month ago and the needle would bounce from 30-60 mph and when I took it apart it just needed a good cleaning.
