removing the instrument cluster

just wanted to let y'all know that I removed the cluster to replace the chrome around the gauges.

remove the steering cover screws (x3)

remove the vent under cluster screws (x2)

remove the ducting to passenger door vent left of cluster pops out

there are TWO screws holding the cluster not one! remove them and pull straight at you..and voila!

disconnect circuit board from wires and remove cluster!

the one thread said one screw on the cluster but there are two

i actually went to mazda and had them print out the exploded diagram of the cluster which they were happy to do and there you could see all of the parts that needed to be removed.

hope this helps....

still debating wether to gowith white gauge faces....

the folks at RP strongly discouraged it....
