Just finished getting a rebuild

Heya guys, just got the bat back from a rebuild and it seems like my gen1 avcr's playn up. The car would come on boost fine but boost to around 1.1 to 1.2 bar! thats with the avcr set to .5 bar? weird? it seems like the avcr's not doin jack at all. just one last question cos im still in the process of running the darn thing in so its still running really rich down bottom but will this get bvetter once ive finished running it in? thanks for reading

Breaking the engine in at 1.2bar is actually good for your car. Just get a FPR to adjust fuel and lean it out.

There was another thread just a few days back about someone overboosting with the AVC-R:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=316323

Take a read through there and see if anything might help you out.

This guy is quite the comedian .

1.2 bar is way way too much boost for a brand new motor. Half a bar is even a bit much. Keep your revs below 4k and go part throttle and you shouldnt have to worry about overboosting.......

My mechanic said not to boost at all if possible during first 1000 mi .... And it's not easy especially on onramps where you have to find a slot and merge.... but I tried to stay off it as much as possible, and my engine seems very healthy ! 4k mi later...

ahhermm.. i apologize for being to harsh. ona fresh rebuild you shouldnt be pushing as hard as it sound like you are. give time for everything to "break in" unless you want it to break out... 500 miles bro hammy.

Its cool thanks for the feedback anyways. Taking the car in on friday so my mechanic that works on my bat can have a wee nosey with it plus change the oil plugs etc again cos i've finished running it in. Might actually just ask him to take out the avcr n see wat happens then anyways he said b4 as soon as he finished rebuilding it a few weeks ago that my computer might be spiked or something? oh well money pit money pit haha. I trust this guy because he's currently holding the new zealand quickest batty record.

BTW does anyone have any info on the standalone puter "microtech"? I heard its pretty much made for FD3's and is better than a PFC + cheaper. In NZ anyway
