I'm impressed with teh actual work being accomplished in a timely manner. My experience with Body shops usually leaves me frustrated while the car sits half complete for weeks at a time.

haha.... same here! i am there every day taking pics and also, my dad told them i need it for a show so they are speeding everything up as best they can!

I would suggest taking them out due to similar reasons as taking off the bumpers. Plus, the black plastic mesh in the vent looks like crap when it is painted.

good point..... i guess i will take them off.... also, the fender needs to be re-aligned???? there is a few screws on the top, a few on the door jams and the bottom right??

i have added 2 new day's and have stripped the interior and the engine... its being painted tomorrow morning... i will post up pics tomorrow... check website for update!

yea, the whole car was painted by me when i got the car about 2 years ago... i painted it MB not knowing this would happen.... we used du-pont on the other paint job and it looked nice when it was just painted but after a year, it looked like ****!
i wanted to change the color then but i needed the car soon!!
also, can someone please tell me how to get that dam vent on the fender out without having to take out the fender itsself???

But at this point, if you went far enough to remove the headliner and back glass, why not just pull the fenders? They're not that difficult to line back up.

Since you took a pic of the back side of the clips you should be able to access them from the same place. Use a long screw driver or similar tool to push both sides of the clip in. It might help to apply a little pressure (pulling vent out) while trying to defeat the clips.
Good progress, good call on taking the doors and hatch off that will leave you with no tape lines = quality job.

today we painted the door jambs and tomorrow, im trying to get that stupid vent out!!
check out pics!! also, i got my 99 spec front bumper and lip today!~! pics are on the site!

haha.... those were what they had that were big enough in one peice... it was either squares of 5 strip's of the green stuff!
looked like a Persian Rug!

car is all painted and clear coated today!!!! i also got my HID sleepy eye kit from Fumanchu today which i will also be installing with the paint......
