jeeze! 250 bucks for a starter

Is that what they usually go for? is there anywhere I can get one cheaper for my FD?

thats from a place called Napa auto parts here in chicago, thats without a core charge too, if I dont do a core exhange its 3 bills. Jeebus, time to try finding a cheaper one.

yeah, I wouldnt know, ive never had to replace a starter on any car, I can get one for 240 from mazdaformance. I think I'll go with that

I know if my area NAPA is usually a little steep, I'd look around if you can aford to wait a couple more days.

Try and get your old one repaired. When my alternator went out, new/refurbished ones were $250 to $300. I got mine fixed at an alternator place for $50. Most alternator places can also fix starters too.

I just checked a place today, a local starter and alt rebuild place cause my starter is giving me some troubles, they quoted me 160 Canadian Hmmmm you guys are paying how much? in US dollars
all right for once I dont feel so ripped off

That is awesome news/info for the alternator. Mine just crapped out on me yesterday, causing a 3 hour fiasco with me and some other guys. I was pissed when I found out they costed $300 new, and $250+ for a rebuild. I'm definately going to see if I can get mine done for that cheap, or anywhere near for that matter.
