JDM tailight CONV for DIY

hey does anyone have the steps in doin the jspec tailight conversion yourself i had read in another thread that theres a way to do it yourself i wanted to see if anyone can help here im not puttin my RX on the road for another month and im doin small projects on it til i get it done


oooh and i changed the spark plugs woah man that was a task but everything went well and everything works nice and pullls hard as hell what a difference......also i changed the coolant that wasnt bad either very easy for the DIY dont pay someone do do this....well thanks for the help and the next task is the oil pan gasket......fun fun any help with that would be great

it almost seems that it would be easier to remove them from the bottom

it almost seems that it would be easier to remove them from the bottom theres a hole in the subframe that u can see they are right there large enough to fit ur hand through...just gotta take the maifold off and the throttle body to get the wires and **** off

thanks for the info.....theres an easier way to get the lights apart..put them in the oven (if able to) at 225 degrees and let them sit in ther on foil for a couple mins checkin constantly once they get heated enough they u will be able to pry them apart use a flathead screw driver if needed and there ya go...did this with some headlights a while back and worked better than a heat gun because it gives a constant temp over the whole assembly...hope that helps anyone else tryin to do this....

I tried the oven trick and had to use 275 degrees for ~5mins to get the goo soft enough so that I could get the lens off. Oven temperatures probably vary quite a bit, so if you do this be careful not to make a molten glob of taillights in your oven and take your time prying the lenses off after you have them heated up
