JDM Conversion

Hey everyone. I need to know what is required to convert a USDM RX-7 to a JDM spec RX-7. Anything at all that is different, performance or cosmetic. Thanks in advance

How far do you want to go w/ this type of conversion? Please elaborate.

RHD conversion?
Exterior conversion?
Full "JDM" interior?

Hmmm. This is by no means an all encompassing list, but you will need 1999 RX-7:

Front bumper w/combo lights and fog lights
Front Lip Spoiler
Spoiler
Taillights
17 inch Wheels
downpipe instead of precat
Twin Turbos

My good friend Alex out in NJ did the full 1999 cosmetic conversion after his rex was badly vandalized. He got it painted a Porsch TT Navy Blue and man oh man is it insane.....

PICS!!!

oh, and is it really worth that much to you to have the full 99 conversion performance wise too? Seriously, for the price you'll pay for the twins you could get a set of BNRs. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Roger that.

Also, Alex is coming out to visit and potentially help with Gotham, so you might get to see his 7......

I don't know that you'd want to do anything other than the cosmetic stuff.... basically a new bumper, tailights and spoiler... for performance, you'd be better off with cheaper, more effective aftermarket mods for your US spec car.

Although, i'd love to get my hands on the 99-spec revised rats nest, which is simplified down to a block (from the pics i saw once)... tha'd make a great retrofit kit....

JDM SWAP-

First off, obviously you need the motor. However, you cannot use your factory loom(wiring harness). You need the JDM harness. There was one on e-bay for $500.00 the other week. Anyway thats all I know. There are a bunch of little things that differ. One, the TPS is on the other side of the TB, which is why you need the JDM harness-

You can import a car from Japan? I thought you had to go through many tests to do that. That's why only Motorex imports Skylines.

or not

Most front clips body panels are removed or smashed. He wont get the wheels, the sideskirts (OEM optional), or the wing or tail lights either. All he'll get that he wanted was the motor (pointless) and the turbos (see also pointless)
