Update:
The engine is in the car, just about everything is ready to go. Rick is finishing up a couple of little things and then will road test it. I should be able to pick it up Tuesday or Wednesday, assuming no more problems crop up.
After driving an 86 Accord with 210k miles on it for the last 4.5 months, getting her back is going to be nice, even with having to drive it only in vacuum....

So you'll be chomping at the bit for a few more days. When is this thing getting tuned?
On my last FD, I broke in the engine in roughly 10 days. Went out in the eves after work for a few hours and drove up and down a deserted highway running the car through the rev range. That was when I was single of course

The car is finally done! Unfortunately, I couldn't make it over to pick it up today before Rick closed.
I still have several little items to attend to (and a few big ones), but she's DONE. I'll be picking her up tomorrow. Break-in time!
BTW, it's been 143 days since I last drove her....I'm excited as hell to be getting her back.

*new rotor housings

*"smoggable" streetport -- Rick knows how to streetport the motor to maintain emissions compliance, keeping good low end, while still increasing the power up top.
That's it. Other than almost all new parts -- new oil pump, new OMP lines and injectors, all new coolant hoses, all new vacuum lines, check valves, 2 replacement solenoids, etc. Water pump remained as it's only a year old.
Lot's of other little things....like BNR Stage 3s run sequentially, the Stoptech front brakes, Mazda 99+ rear brakes, etc.

I'm so damn excited to pick her up -- I was unhappy to not be able to pick her up tonight.

I know the feeling

I drove my FD last weekend for the first time in over 12 months!
The only sad part was being passed by an Enzo and having to watch it disappear over the horizon

Congratulations on getting your baby back

rotary FD owners, meanwhile, enjoy our superlative NEGATIVE return investment...and that's before we fill up with $3/gallon 93 octane gas (let alone race fuel for some crazies) which is promptly slurped down at 11 mpg

I picked her up tonight..
It felt like the first time I ever drove her....
There's going to be a lot to get used to -- the streetport, lightweight flywheel, and ACT clutch change the feel of driving it somewhat. Due to the fact I've been driving a Honda with a long, sloppy clutch throw (with no engagement over the first six inches of travel) for the last 4-1/2 months, let's just say that I'm getting used to the FD clutch again. I think I stalled it 6 times in a row pulling out of Rick's parking lot.
Obviously I can't really get on it yet, but I had a few brief moments of 5 psi and the beast within started to awake....
I can tell she is seriously going to haul some *** once broken-in. I did notice a little bit of low-end power loss from the streetport, but after the break-in, I doubt I'll be spending much time at 2k rpm. 75 miles so far, 425 to go before I can start raising the rpm, 925 to go before full out, full boost action!
The BNR Stage 3s sound more "zingy" than the stockers. They seem to spool very similarly to the stock 93-95 turbos, but it's hard to pass judgement on that when I'm still babying the car around. It takes very, very little throttle above 2k rpm to get them to 5 psi though, so here's to hoping these things run sequentially will be the 5k rpm powerband terrors I've hoped they will be.
Oh, and I need to fully bed-in the pads on the new brakes, but so far the Stoptech/99-rear combo feels good -- very short travel hard pedal and good initial bite and feel.
I've got several little things to wrap up -- finish upgrading the CoolingMist.com water injection kit to "current spec", install hard intake pipes that I kept forgetting to give to Rick, replace the turn signal plastic covers with new ones, etc -- and a few big ones, like installing the Zeal coilover setup and my RaceShop rollbar and harnesses. Finish up break-in, get the PFC tuned, start dialing in the coilovers, and hit the track again FINALLY!
Thanks to all the members of this forum that have helped me out before and during the rebuild and over the years. I especially would like to thank Rich (GoodfellasFD3S), Max (MaxCooper), Stephen (SPOAutos), Damon (DamonB), Chuck (cewrx7r1), David (coolingmist), Chris (CrispyRX7), Kyle (Mahjik), and several others who I'm forgetting to mention at the moment. And thanks to Rick at Rick's Rotary, a true class-act.

BTW, Congrats Tyler! In a few short weeks, it will be 365 days for me.
I have not been posting much but I have been reading your threads. Its about time. Cant wait to hear how those BNR's are gonna work for you. I haven't had much time to enjoy my car, but I plan to go to the track sometime soon.

Tyler, your FD is going to scream.....I was just ripping around in my R1, and the spool time is pretty damn good set up parallel. At 15 psi I was clawing for traction, squealing my rear 275 width BFG Gforce KDs all through 1st gear......I am head over heels in love

Congrats Tyler!!!
Glad to hear that you finally have your car back, and that you are pleased with things so far. Hopefully you will be ready for that autocross the first Sunday in October. I expect to see you there

Yeah!!!!
I just got back from the Test Only smog station...I passed! Two more years of sweet freedom.
Who says you can't pass smog with a streetported motor, intake, SMIC, downpipe, hi-flow cat, and PFC?
And Adam, I AM planning on going to that auto-x...it will be great to see you again.
