Never.

Two weeks maybe? I think I've been saying that for a month-and-a-half now....

The worst part is after I finally get her back, it's break-in time on the motor.....

Hope you get all set up soon! Nice looking turbos!

I'll probably be in your situation shortly... my factory reman now has 70K miles and you know how hard I beat it at the track! I'm surprised it has gone this long.

This cracks me up ... I have been saying the exact same thing for 6 weeks now (car's been down almost 3 months). And just today my mechanic and I agreed that it should be about 2 more weeks (for the 4th time straight ). Then the break in... I'm loosing my patience, It's hard to wait on such a great car!

Good question. Welcome to the world of upgrading used turbos. This is why going with the BNR Stage 3s is NOT a no-brainer like so many people on here think (meanwhile I don't notice them pulling out THEIR wallets). I agonized over the 99s vs BNRs decision.

BTW, those are not MY actual turbos upgraded, they were upgraded from a good core set I bought from Bryan. My turbos would not have been usable for running sequentially.

That is funny, my car went in April 9....our sitch's are essentially identical. Well good luck finishing in 2 weeks!

every stock manifold I've seen now has a crack in that exact same place....very common, and I doubt it's anything to worry about

I wish....my mechanic has had a backlog and is taking longer than expected -- damn summer months create more short-term work for him. All the parts are here now and ready to go together....

Since my last update, I've also picked up a used M2 rollbar, just the base hoop. The bar is at The Race Shop right now getting the rear diagonal support, harness bar, and seat brace welded in, and then a new powdercoat. For those of you who missed it, Larry at The Race Shop was the fabricator of these rollbars and many other parts for M2 and several other major vendors. He will be officially opening shop soon...

Of course, this means that I still need to get a racing shell (Bride or Recaro) and a 5-point harness for track days. The money pit never stops sucking.

Update - the car might be back together by the end of the week. We'll see!

As a tide-over, here's some really shitty pics I took in a hurry of the Stoptech brakes....not even out of their packages yet! They're big. Very good construction quality.

Apparently I went to the Max Cooper photo-taking school....

Sweet!

Stick some N-Tech Lapping pads on there and you'll be all set!

rynberg, when you get the rotors out of the plastic can you take a pic of the back of the rotor? I'm curious how they attached them to the hats.

That rotor is for a 4 lug.................. ahahah j/k j/k
Anyhow, can't wait to see the final product. Make sure to post pics
As far as turbos, I had stock twins...blown
used upgraded twins... blown
I've decided to go the gt35r for a turbo (from a-spec probably) for the simplicity factor (less stuff to deal with) .. to me anyways
Nice brakes too... can I try them out for you until you get your car back together :p hahahah

That's the plan! Thanks a lot for the recommendation on the pads, BTW. They're a lot cheaper than PFC 01s....at $305/set!

Look here -- http://www.zeckhausenracing.com/Stop...eplacement.htm, Dave's already done the picture taking work! I seriously recommend to anyone needing upgraded brakes to talk to Dave at Zeckhausen Racing. He knows FDs, brakes, and track conditions and can be a great asset for braking solutions. He's the only dealer doing the custom Stoptech kit's designed for the 99+ OEM brakes. Thanks Dave!

Me neither, I will certainly take some pics...

I would have gone GT 35/40 from A-spec but I wanted to give the BNRs a shot first. I REALLY like the idea of making 350 rwhp while still being completely smog compliant (except for the downpipe) and able to pass without trickery. We'll see if it happens. Enjoy your GT 35/40, it's a great setup.

Hope to see you at a track event soon!

The stoptech brakes look nice. I'm a big fan of the Porterfield R4 pads for track day use. Easy on the rotors. Cost around $100 a set.
