SMICs and V-Mounts are over rated.

I have a FMIC and have no intake temp issues...even blazing down twisty roads in 80F weather boosting 16psi on a single. However, my buddy with a SMIC gets heat soaked sometimes while driving...

Manufacturers: "Hey! lets turn it sideways and charge an ungodly amount of money for it!"

"Approx. 70% street and 30% track/autox, although its NOT my daily driver"

for driver ed track events, proper v-mount is best of all. even a 6 pass rad will not help at the big track on a hot day with a greedy type fmic install, blocking and heating air. fmic for track shoud include a big mouth front bumper, or allow some air bypass to rad. apexi and/or blitz fmic's do this.

Done right, most fmics are fine for autox and hard street use. Allows preccooling of IC while staging ... nice +.

I agree a 6 pass radiator would not help, ideally the most pass you want is 3 pass, due to the effiecncy and flow, over that it begins starts to lose efficency and gets very restrictive. I have found out from FEED and R-Mgic that they borh use triple pass radiators and cooling problems, they both said coolant temps are under 100C even during extended periods of time on the track.
