Intake Pipe Kit

Anybody ever tried this product :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2426625186

I'm wondering about the built quality.

Thanks.

I looked at this a couple times. In my opinion, the guy is shady or stupid...either way, I won't buy from him.

My reasons: (a) He provides (or used to provide) one filter. ONE. WTF good is one filter? (b) Reports are that the clamps provided are all way too big...they kind of look that way in the picture as well. (c) When I asked about the differences in the pictures in the ad, he claimed that they were the same thing. He also claimed that the auction included everything in the picture and included provision for hooking up all of the other hoses like airpump, etc. Well, the second picture is clearly a picture of the Blitz intake and filters, and he is not including that. In fact, some of his newer ads state "filter not included" but it still implies that the Blitz intake fittings are.

Bottom line, its not a bad price for polished aluminum intake pipes, however if you look on Ebay there are a couple other kits that offer pipes, connectors and clamps for about the same price that don't lie about the intake, filters, etc. I don't have any direct experience with them, but I'm probably going to buy from one of them when I decide to upgrade that part of my car (I think I need struts first...I'm tired of scraping bottom on speed bumps!).

Its allot cheaper to make your own, I used stainless steel for my hardpipes so that I wouldnt have to worry about using a tig instead of my wirefeed which is way easier...

BATMAN uses the ones from www.turbohoses.com

They fit well.

ZERO rubbing and pretty easy to install..........

Those aluminum ebay pipes don't work well with the stock air box. Ask me how I know. The bottom one is way off and you have to contort the silicon to rig it up. The top one is only off by about 1/4" so its not that bad.

I did a unoffical group buy for these couple of months ago.. Back then, non of those ebay sellers were willing to sell them at 100shipped.. they all told me that it was below their price.. Look at all of them now.. after Gotham Racing said they will do 100shipped.. And GR sold 20+.. They all decided to lower the price..

The bottom line is that the intake kits are all the same except. the ones from RX7store.. Those are SS.. Also the clamps that comes with other kits are too big.. Gotham's kits come with right size clamps..

Rx7 store intake kits are nicer and couplers are also nicer.. AL ones are cheaper.. but you wouldn't need silicone ones for intake.. since it will never pressurize.. unless you want to look nice..

The bottom pipe will not work, the clamps are stupidly huge. So what you end up buyins is a $80 top pipe and 2 couplers, the clamps and bottom pipe go in the dumpster.

Heh, the only thing left worth anything is the couplers and clamps, the pipe I hacked up trying to make it fit. Why, you interested in them?

I bought a set off ebay from "huybiz" for way too much $$$. Should've waited for Gotham...

Anyway, the bottom pipe is off a bit. But it worked for my application: 2 K&N's with a custom heatshield & ducting for cold ram air.

Yeah I was wondering about those kits too. Not that I need an intake per se, but just curious since the two pictures don't seem to match up on his ad. Let us know when you receive them Friday.

Go back and read my contribution to the thread, I don't feel like typing it again. Good to know all the Al pipes on Ebay are the same basic kit. In that case, go buy the ones from the guy who doesn't think his kit is the same as the Blitz intake. Sheesh...

I'll see if I can round it up. I'll post a pic to be sure.
