Intake elbow

The stock intake elbow connected to the throttle body has an air hose running to the uim area, but my new Greddy intake elbow has no air hose bung.I looked it up on the mazda manual and it only said "air hose" which helps me none. Can anyone clear this up for me?

here's a picture of the area i'm referring too

It's for the AWS system. Just remove the hose and plug the barb on the UIM with a rubber cap and a clamp. It will stop the AWS from working, but that is a good thing.

Even better, remove the AWS solenoid entirely and use a block off plate to cover the resulting hole.

Has anyone had any bad results from plugging the AWS system?

I was also thinking of just plugging the line but I've read some things from fd3s.net saying it may have some side effects.

Thanks.

Why not just get some block off plates and remove the AWS?

I'm with you, the cost of a BOP isn't much and it's not that bad of a job, but I assume this is referring to the solenoid under the UIM....
Code 38= Solenoid valve - accelerated warm-up system and air supply valve

Weird...this was recently posted in a separate but related thread here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...estion-995182/

Yeah interesting, I'm actually running simplified seq with dual MBC. I removed everything but 3 solenoids, no resistor on any if the connectors and harness was de-pinned for PFC. I'm still running the stock ECU because the tune in my PFC is a bit too aggressive to me, so I throw the stock ECU back on till I can get it tune next spring, car drives perfectly fine and I'm not getting any CEL
