Instrument Cluster Lights
Hi everyone.
I have just started my winter projects.
One is to replace the cluster lights with LEDs
I am in the process of doing it, but I am having difficulties trouble-shooting lights that are Ok and work and those that don't.
Would anybody have a picture or a list of all the lights that are supposed to come on when you turn the key? I am assuming all should, however, my high beams light doesn't, but it does come on when I put the high beams on.
There is also the fog lights light that does not come on and I can't seem to find out why.
The 2 warning lights for the oil pressure and the coolant as well along with the cruise control also do not come on.
Any contribution is very appreciated.

The pdf's have all the info you need. I just ordered SMD 6 LED's for my cluster two days ago.

My problem is not determining the size/colour of the bulbs, or removing the cluster, I've done all that already.
At the moment, I have the cluster only (no hood or face) plugged into the harness and I am trouble-shooting the light bulbs to make sure they are all working.
So, I need a picture of the dash lit up at the turn of the key to see what shows up, or a list of the lights that should show up when you turn the key.
Also, I am not sure how to find out on the LEDs I have what polarity they are, since they can be plugged in either way and there are no markings of any sort on them, so even though in the pictures on that thread there is an indication of where the positive pole is on the single bulb sockets, I have no use for that, because of the LEDs.

Right now I have consolidated some of the work.
The illumination ones are all in place and working greatly.
Most of the lights at the bottom left and right also work, however, I have a couple that don't. One is Fog Lights indicator (but this may be a larger issue as they weren't coming on before this) and the other is the high beams, which work when you either flash or put the high beams on, but does not light up when you turn the key.
I also need to trouble-shoot the cruise control one.
The low fuel warning light does work when you turn the key, then it turns off, so it seems to be operating properly, but I put a white one in and it has changed the actual colour, so I need to go with an amber one.
Both oil and temp lights are momentarily dead. I might end up following your suggestion as IMO there isn't much of a point in changing those, however, life expectancy would certainly be a good point.
