Key Light?

OK this may be a dumb question but after about 2-3 days of sitting my battery goes dead i tested the alt and its all good there and i don't have a draw in the fuses. But what i noticed is that the light where you put the key into the ignition stays on, should this be going out after a few mins or so?? Could this be killing my battery?

I've never noticed mine staying on more than a few moments. RX-7'a are notorious for having electrical gremlins. Add to that all the modifications and electronics we install and things like this are quite common.

It may be a good idea to install a battery kill switch somewhere. My battery has been relocated to the rear bin so the switch is in the car with me. Makes it easy when you leave the car for a few days to be sure it will have a full charge when you return.

Both the light for the key and the door keyhole stay illuminated for a minute or two after the door handle is operated. If it doesn't go out, troubleshoot what is supposed to turn out the light.

A trickle charger should be used on any car that sits for over a week.

You can also remove the light bulb if you don't needd it

These lights are controlled by CPU #2. Very common for this box to cause strange problems like this. There is a writeup somewhere for replacing the capacitors inside, may fix your problem.
