injector plug question

in theory, if the injector plugs from the harness were to be put on the wrong injector, ie.. inj 1 gets the plug for inj 3 and so on, would that cause an injector spraying issue?

not to sure how to word it but i think that makes sense...

YES. The ECU would be firing an injector with completely different specs. If you follow the wiring schematic, each of the 4 driven wires coordinate to a particular injector.

i see... do you have an idea of how the car would run if the plugs were to get mixed up?

The ECU in your car manages when each injector opens based on the cycles of each rotor. Maps defining milliseconds of fuel delivery are defined in tables used by the ECU to accomplish this. Miss connecting the injector wires would cause your injectors to open at the wrong time creating a significant problem. In short, your car would run like crap if at all. Find a wiring diagram on this site and identify the color coding on the wires. They all share a common ground so all you need to focus on is the hot wire colors for each injector.

I realize this may be splitting hairs, but the injectors all share a common +12V power source, and the ECU sends switched ground (using transistors) to each injector. In other words, the Black/Yellow wires supply power to all 4 injectors, and should measure 12-14V when the ignition key is on.

Back to the original question, yes it's possible that the car may not run well.

If you accidentally swapped the front vs rear injector plugs, may or may not notice poor throttle response and possibly a poor idle. Then again, it's possible you may not notice a difference.

If you accidentally swapped the primary vs secondary injector plugs, the difference should be noticeable. The car would run richer than usual at idle and when cruising. It should be rich enough to produce a noticeable increase in exhaust fumes, and you may even see visible black smoke from the tailpipe.

Wire colors from the '94 factory service manual:

Front Primary = Light Green / Red
Front Secondary = Light Green / White

Rear Primary = Light Green / Black
Rear Secondary = Light Green (no stripe)

(as mentioned above, each injector plug will also have a Black/ Yellow wire)

so i checked the injectors... theyre good. i did the stuck injector fix with the 9 volt battery on each one. ALL the plugs for the harness are good. tried starting it with the pfc and the stock ecu. same result...

i am going to replace the injectors and fuel rails with the ones from my old motor just to see what will happen.

im looking for the necessary o rings and i've only come up with 2: 13-zg3 and 13-zg4... 2 of each making 4 o rings. are there any other grommets or anything that i need when pulling the rail and injectors?
