ignition/firing issues

well, to try to get this short....i thought that because i had the CEL #9 for the water thermo sensor that my stalling and hesitation issues were due to limp mode, but my symptome were not all there. so, i got mad yesterday because i started the car and when it warmed up, it just stalled. turns out that the front leading plug wire had worked itself crooked and was causing the plugs to foul because of a lack of spark. i replaced the plugs yesterday, and for the 1st time, went with 9's all the way around. non platinum. it ran fine. well, until today that is. a few minutes ago after coming to my friends shop, i tried to leave and it was slow to turn over and just kept spinning. i turned the key off, and retried to start it, and a huge backfire occured. after that i can't keep the car idling for more than a minute or two. it just stalls out. did i use the wrong plug set up? are my wires fokked up? or is there another option?

PLEAES RESPOND....

LOUIS

mods?

You don't want to run 9's unless you're fairly modded.

street port, 3MM, intake, straight exhaust, down pipe, yadda yadda yadda......

***update on my stalling issue.

-the car it still stalling after the car warms up. i am thinking that it IS related to the check enging light that i am getting, but am not sure. again, the code is 9, and is for the water thermo sensor. again, today, mazda FOKKED me. after i walked to the dealership in the 95+ degree heat, they said oops...no it did not come in, and will be here on monday. ****, i leave for atlanta on wednesday.

well, i checked the connector on the thermoswitch, and there is no *appearant* corrosion, and it is making a good connection. i talked to cam at pettit again today, and he says that my problem is probably going to be directly related to the thermosensor. seeing how he says that the car will run richer, not leaner once warmed, i am trusting him that the car is stalling doe to this factor.

if any of you have had similar experiences of momentary power loss, stalling and other weird **** like this,,,,and at any give time, please share.

right now my only option is to wait for the thermosensor, and pray it is related. the light has been on and off for about 3 weeks or so, and stays on longer now, and now the car ***** up......

fingers crossed..

OK, if the water thermosensor is malfunctioning and is sending a signal to the ECU that it's reading an excessively cold temperature, the ECU may respond by richning up the mixture substantianly enough that it will foul the plugs, see if that's what it is, this is just a theory IF and only IF the water thermosensor is bad. Just an idea, good luck.

Did you solve this problem? - my 93FD is also stalling when hot. Was it the thermosensor?
