Ignition coil help

I had it hooked up the wrong way with trailing on the bottom and leading on the top. So today I switched it to the correct way, t for top and l for lower and now the car doesnt run right, it sounds as if its either missing or igniting in the wrong pattern. Switched it back to how it was before and it ran smooth, just really rich, around 11 af. So what could be causing it to run right hooked up wrong and not run right hooked up right??

I just reinstalled all of my ignition this weekend.

Coils arranged on block (front to rear) : T1 coil - Leading Coil - T2 Coil

Coil harness: T1 coil uses the white plug, Leading coil uses the black plug, and T2 coil uses the blue plug.

Plug wires: T1 coil to front trailing (top plug). Leading coil top plug goes to Front leading (bottom plug). Leading coil bottom goes to rear leading (bottom plug). T2 coil goes to rear trailing (top plug).

Do you have a PFC? Smog pump hooked up? You need to supply more information on your car. What are the mods on the car? Did you ever take the car into boost with the plug wires wrong?

RX-7s like to idle around 13, so if you have a method of tuning the car then you need to add some fuel in. However if you have a smog pump there are a completely different set of AFRs.

PFC ems. Newly rebuilt and street ported. 62-1 turbo. 550 pri 1680 sec. Walboro fuel pump. No emissions at all and has been tuned. I'm thinking the leading coil is bad causing it to run basically fine wired wrong. Maybe. I have have the boost set at .6 right now cuz of ignition breakup. Afs are good and no knock at that level. Oh yea, I'm also running premix

Pretty simple to determine if you have a bad coil, just check for spark at each plug wire.

If the car was tuned with the wires on the wrong plugs then it needs to be retuned with the proper ignition split. Your ingitin "break up" at .6 was more likely detonation due to negative split in boost.

No ****, cuz I did get the the map while it was wired wrong....But his car was tuned with it hooked up correctly and its his map that was loaded to mine, would that matter?

If I understand you correctly, your car has not been tuned. You are running a map that was tuned for a different car?

Its from a car built excatly like mine cept he has a gt35r. Im gonna tune it out to fit mine. I did fix the problem by getting new leading coil for the car but now when I boost I go lean....so what would be causing this **** to happen?

So I was at the track Sunday just playing around alittle to see how it drifts. Was going fine and all. Then after a run I was driving back to the parking spot and it died and wouldnt start. I changed out the coils with my spare I had and started up fine. Next day I go to start it up (cold, about 76f outside) and it wouldnt start. Wouldnt even fire at all. So this evening I go outside and turn down the fuel pressure to about 35psi because I thought it might be getting flooded. Cranked the car and nothing, second time I cranked it it fire maybe twice. So I throw on another set of coils and same thing. I really doubt I have 3 bad coils total, it would explain it starting while warm at the track and not when it was cold but I dont think I have that bad of luck having 3 bad coils. Heres a couple vids maybe it will help.

IMO, i would inspect every aspect of the ignition system.

wiring, coils, cables, plugs you name it, inspect it.

i would check everything before you end up with a blown motor
