Drilling the pre-control pill

I've been thinking of drilling my pre-control pill with a .0595 (#53) drill. I'd be enlarging the hole .0015'' up from .058. I'm boosting to 12 or very slightly under 12 on the primary turbo. This is under hard acceleration. I also see 12 on primary if I accelerate in 4th at lower rpms on the highway but I started a thread about it a while back and the general consensus was not to worry about it. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hlight=psi+4th

I know the pre-control pill controls the boost of the primary and also the transition so I don't want to screw it up. Has anybody tried drilling the pre-control pill with success? I did some searching and found people struggling with valves. I am only trying to get closer to 10psi on the pirmary, I don't want to fiddle with an EBC or MBC dual valves.

try and see where your boost is at with no pills. I was boosting 12-14 psi and I couldn't get it down, so I took it out and now I am running 9-10 psi without the pills.

I moved my wastegate pill (slightly larger opening) to the precontrol line a few years ago. I did this in an attempt to increase my boost at transition. Boost at transition went up very slightly with no change in boost before or after transition.

I dont think drilling the prespool pill will lower your 12 psi boost. The pre spool mostly controls transition. As stated before, there isn't anything that needs fixing with your car

I had the opposite issue of you where I was boosting 10-10-15 as my secondary was running out of control. So I removed the the pill for the wastegate altogether and saw 7-9-10. I then drilled the pill and saw 9-10-11 or so with a very smooth, gradual transition.

By drilling the pill for the secondary I was able to also lower primary boost. What PSI are you seeing near redline?
