1988.60 for the oil metering pump?
1800 for removal and installing the oil metering pump?
1200 for replacing the vacuum hoses?
damn dude, what the heck did you get your self into? At those prices, you can source them from else where cheaper, and do the labor your self and put the money else where.

Seriously, you can get lots of quality used parts from other members on the forum here for maybe 5% of those prices. Those prices are just ridiculous. Oh well, you live and learn.

Holy ****....looks like he had some kind of credit note with the garage...so they just jacked up the prices to offset the credit.....did they say bend over as they were handing you the invoice because that is mega expensive...I bought a used MOP for €100 and replced it myself, it wasnt easy but if I could get that kind of money on parts and labour just for MOP replacements I would jack my job in tomorrow!!
However, everyone is different and some folks like to just go to the dealer and get brand new parts. Also, if anything goes wrong at least the dealer will give you a credit note!!

I don't see a problem having shops (reputable ones only of course...there are a lot mentioned in this forum) but that bill is outrageously high for the things done on that order. I don't want to bust your *****...but did you shop around for price quotes? Do you mind providing the location/name of this shop? Even if the popular shops (Banzai Racing, RX7Store, IR, etc) are not even remotely close...I'm sure shipping your car via truck carrier to any of these, serviced and shipped back would still be cheaper than the shop you went with.
Probably to help relieve that price was to buy all the OEM parts (or most of at least) beforehand from Ray Malloy Mazda and have that installed with the shop. Ray is the man for OEM parts.
Regardless, have fun with the FD when you get it back. Take pics!

**** man for that price you could have had your engine rebuilt!! I would seriously compare the prices to mazda as I fully think you just got shafted big time!!! If i ever got a bill that large for that type of work I would throw it back in thier face and ask for the real bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But yeah were you bending over and taking it when they gave you the bill??? Those prices are WAY out of line!

There's a rotary shop in NC that buys, rebuilds and sells FD's. That is where you should be taking your car! Take the insurance check and get the flock out of there!
BTW, I have '06 CBR 1000RR parts for sale.
Some of those prices are an *** drilling without lube! you can get a complete new oem vacuum hose kit for like $300. Only some of the lines should be changed to silicone and that's some you can do yourself or they should be able to do for $200 (+$150 for the hose kit) and not $2k. Maybe even alot less since they should discount labor on that when rebuilding the engine. Looks like both you and the shop are padding extra prices.
You can get brand new OEM 99+ JDM twin turbos for the same price as the rebuilt USDM twin turbos. You could also upgrade to the Efini Y-pipe kit.
I have no idea why it lists a down pipe unless that is your preference and the precat is bad.

Dam.....should have asked for a quote before having them repair it. Or next time post something in the forum, we'll help you out anytime.
Is there a warranty on the work done? It may "accidently" detonate and you'll get a brand new engine??????

^ if you notice it looks like it's fully warranty paid with only $50 deductable which is why the stealership is taking advantage and beleives he will go along with it becuase they padded on a $300 down pipe.
