LOL that bill is that high because that dealer quoting you retail for each part and individual hours for each job and not as a whole. Especially when a aftermarket warrantly is involved. I didn't see the shop labor hrs anywhere. Do you know what they are charging per hr?

Oh yea I also think it's funny that they convinced the warranty company that the knock sensors were leaking. LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!

No look at it again. His warranty will only cover about 5,500 of that total bill. No warrantly company is stupid enought to cover only a 50 deductable for a 3rd gen Rx7. They keep detailed records in their history files. Some warranty companies wont even cover the vehicle at all.

ok, so mayble i should explain everything. i got the car in august and paid 13k for it. the previous owner said that it had an oil leak and that his transferrable extended warranty would pay for it. being the bright guy that i am, i bought the car and took it to stevenson mazda in wilmington to get the leak taken care of. it turns out my rear main seal was leaking, but it was covered under the warranty. aside from that, they said the car was fine. it took over a month for them to fix my main seal. it was a nightmare, stevenson mazda in wilmington is super weak. a month or two after that, i bought a boost gauge and found out my first turbo wasnt actuating properly. i figured it was my vacuum lines and that they needed to be replaced. in december, i noticed an oil leak so i took it to a performance shop specializing in rx7s. i figured i would get the oil leak fixed and have the vacuum lines done... and thats what happens when you assume things... i would have done some of the work myself, but i do not have the time (apparently i have the money) to do all that work. they've had my car a while, but i'm sure once i get it back, everything should be fixed on it... and that gives me the green flag to buy more stuff for it...

wow...

My rats nest caught on fire and completely melted and it was cheaper to fix than that...

plus all the services i've ever done for the car

and maybe even plus the amount of gas i've put into it.

Sorry dude but that explaines nothing...and bye the way nobody likes to see another RX7 owner get raped like that....but come on, surley you must know that they are taking the absolute **** out of you and for the stuff that aparently been fixed, its not like your car is gona be perfect afterwards, the engine wasnt touched and those gangsters are making 14K WTF.

I would do one of three things there:
1. Call the main Maxda dealer in the US and show them that bill
2. Call the cops
3. Go back there with a gun and take your car back without paying a dime until the bill is reduced to 3-4K max...and even that is expensive imo!

This is crazy stuff!!

warranty paid for 5500. the thing about the warranty is that it only paid for part of certain repairs. it paid 3700 for the oil metering pump and install (i never would have paid that much, but it was something that came somewhat free... atleast it won't break again and its covered if it does.) they gave 1000 toward rebuilding the turbos. i was gonna get the JDM ones, but the extra gains didnt seem worth it. alot of the extra costs came from hoses that were tougher to find.

This has to be one of the funniest threads ever!!! I'm sorry, but there's sooo many things wrong with this thread it's retarded. Why the HELL would you ever post your invoices online? I'm assuming you expected people to be impressed. DAMN, did that back-fire.

If you're even on this forum, I can't understand how you justified paying that bill. You should've seriously had a built single-turbo FD at this point with all the money spent.

Not everyone has the time to learn about these cars and would rather just have a trustworthy shop "take car of it." There is some risk inherent in getting into a bad shop, like it seems you did. Please tell the name of this "rotary specific" shop.

Soooo uh, you should take that shop to court. They are stealing from you, and I'd probably call an attorney. Their labor claim of $6.4k is nonsense IMO. $1800 rebuild turbo? Around $500 for the power steering pump r/r? $1200 for vacuum lines? $2k for the metering pump, god...

At least they were not forgetful and charged you the $3.30 for an o-ring.

BTW - I'm sure everyone here would help you put together REALISTIC QUOTES for the same labor/parts from reputable shops.

Apparently you have money so that means its ok you're getting ripped off?

LOL nah man.

You may think its cool to show off you got the dollars to take on any bill that comes your way but in reality, the people taking the money from you are laughing their asses off when your back is turned because they just raped you.

If this bill comes as a normal thing for you, i can imagine how you purchase other things.

Damn im about to sell my house too. Can i PLEASE sell it to you? lol

You could've shipped the car to me and Ihor up here in NJ and we would have gotten you out the door for about 1/4th of what you paid.

I think you should of waited or of gone to a different shop. Some of the prices are really outrageous! 1800 for replacement of oil metering pump, 408 knock sensor, 540 for pwr steering, 840 for oil pan and gasket, 1200 for vac lines, 120 for downpipe. I understand you had a warranty, but these prices are ridiculous. I think you should try and do something about this! I am glad you have no problems with the bill and think it's fine. I think you should defiantly try and have something done about this. You could of had this work done by a known shop for a fraction of the price!
