Angry idle problem after running high boost

someone out there must be able to help!
i have a 3rd gen 1995 rx7
ive installed a greddy profecb boost controllerand have been playing around with it and was searching the web for settings found some on the lightning page and thought id give them a go anyway youve most probably guessed it something went wrong on my low setting everything was great boosted to around 1 bar and she flew so i thought id try the high setting suggested all was well till i hit a very rough spot near the top of the rev range now ever since that episode the car idle is very irrattic when i start it it runs its cold idle at 2000rpm the drops to 1000rpm the jumps up and down between 1000-1500rpm and eventually rest at 1500rpm when i drive it now normally in the lower part of the rev range its ok (ish) but when using the whole rev range its giving off a very strong smell of fuel someone please help

1.0 bar? Thats a lot of boost, what kind of mods do you have done to your car? With a stock ECU and stock fuel system you might have hurt your injectors or something if you hit max injector duty cycle. One of your injectors might even be stuck open or something, thats all I could think of. If your car is mostly stock .9bar is about the max you should boost, even less with a stock ECU.

What mods do you have? If you have the controllers LOW setting at 1 bar(14.7psi) and you thought you would try the HIGH setting and you dont have lots of mods all I can ask is this....what were you thinking?? Stock turbos, injectors and the remainder of the fuel system is about maxed out at 1 bar so pushing it much above that can cause quite a few problems.

Check the MAP sensor. It's along the firewall. It has a vacuum line that attaches to the upper intake manifold. Sometimes high boost can blow it off.

Back to the ol' map sensor...evidently everyones favorite thing to blame the cars misbehavior on, lol. Doesnt sound like the map sensor or there would be alot of smoking and super rough idle with like 0 drieability but thats just what it was like when my map sensor became disconnected. I'd look elsewhere.

How much boost were you running on the high setting? Also, how is your vacuum at idle? Does the exhaust note sound odd? Is your Upper Intake Manifold shaking at idle?

just under 1.0 bar a/f ratio was ok -0.5 apart from when idle is ratic then moves slightly yes the exhaust note is some times dull and back firing when reved hard also it started to rattle so i changed the rear box as for the intake manifold i havent noticed

It doesn't sound too good here.

Is your vacuum reading steady at idle, or does it vary? When my motor blew, I had an unstable idle, and very unstable vacuum readings, and they were low readings too. The UIM shook violently, and the car backfired.

you do know that an autometer A/F gauge is worthless right??? also, i dont see any real fuel upgrades on your car, you do have a fcon but you still dont got the injectors or fuel pump to actually handle 15psi or above. i suggest compression testing her and then report back.

good luck
