Identify this piece (was at bottom of oil pan)

My FD blew a turbo cause of no/low oil. Found this at the bottom of my oil pan.

Really would need a reference on the size of the object. IE: a penny next to the items. But with a quick guess, I'd say that the bottom piece is a tab broken from the front cover gasket and the top piece may be something from the oil filter itself?

Whatever it is, I'm sure it didn't make nice on it's way to the oil pan. Only way to find out for certain is the "R" word that rhymes with rebuild. Lmk if you need help, seems like you might be relatively close to me.

My guess was the thrust bearing from the turbo dropping from the oil pan from drain tube.

we will see when I put the new used set of twins on.

it also blows smoke after periods of sitting so a rebuild is in the near future regardless.

is be interested in a rebuild, as I have only looked into reman engines because I’m not interested or don’t know the engine well enough to redress it with the twin setup.

pm me so we can talk

THanks all!

For reference of size, it is about 1/4 the outside diameter of a dime/penny.

no site what the black piece that’s a 1/4 half circle could be. But the thrust washer gives me confidence it just dropped straight from the turbo through the turbo drain

Bottom part does look like part of a front cover gasket, it could be from when the engine was assembled.
