i smell coolant....

so this morning i went to take my fd for a spin since it'd been sitting for a lil over a week now......started her up and def noticed the sweet smell of coolant....... it only lasted for about 10 seconds or so but theres no missing that smell i'm assuming that can't be good?

btw, the car doesn't smoke when i drive it / boost it either

had this problem before. check for leaks in your turbo coolant lines upper and lower. they are usually the first to go, if you have not replaced them already. also check your coolant levels every so often and see if you are losing any at all. if there is no leak outside of the car hoses, then i would wonder how your coolant seals are doing, but since you said there is no smoke i wouldnt worry too much about the seals, just keep a close eye on it.

hmmm yea, i thought about the coolant lines too but i have no visable leaks anywhere, i DO smell coolant in my enginebay tho when i pop the hood. this is beginning to drive me nuts

well also there is a coolant line running by the throttle body under the elbow there are about 3 or 4 lines there you could inspect for visual leakage. and if you cannot find it that way. Insert some dye into the system and run the car and look for that dye
