1500 grit does not leave hairline marks they are from the lower grit used after 1500 you are ready to go.

When i did the frame on my bike i went all the way up to three thousand and it looked like chrome by the time i was done, and i noticed to get rid of them hair line scratche its easier to go back a few grits and work your way back up till there gone. Well worth the time spent once its done if your willing to take the time..

That looks really nice but I didn't think the handles were aluminum. Good work.

You guys are killing yourselves with all the manual labor! If this is all you have to go on though when sanding, change direction about 45 degrees for every grit you use. If you go the same direction for every grit, it will mask the previous lines made by the sand paper.
