I broke a nipple

While trying to remove the upper intakemanifold i managed to break a nipple on the solenoid rack... The one that i broke, I believe is the one that is responsible for the double throttle control(the first solenoid closest to the front). To save myself 60 dollars or so could I just disable the double throttle and cap off the ends? (the one leading into the double throttle actuator and the other end of the solenoid that leads back into the upper intake manfold) If so does anyone know the size of caps used? thank you

Some of the guyz have come up with some pretty ingenious methods to fix them permanently - I think the best one used some thin wall metal tubing that is available at almost any good hardware store. I believe they VERY carefully drilled out the remaing material in the solenoid, then inserted the tube with a little expoxy...voila - a new hard nipple! (and who dosn't like them hard?)

Make sure you test each solenoid for function and flow while you are it - it only takes a couple of extra minutes to do it right!

Make blocking plates and remove the double throttle plates and shaft ect . Leave the broked solenoid in place with the wires hooked up for the ECU

I did the same exact thing when taking my UIM off also. The piece costs 45 dollars at mazda. I would just go buy a new one, that way your sure that It won't have any problems if you try to repair it.
