35mm. You will need an impact or a big breaker bar to remove it. When you reinstall it make sure you stake it so it doesn't back out.

You'll have to remove the brake rotor and caliper. After that you should be able to pull it off.

have done all of that but it looks like it will need to be pressed out. which means a few more things need to come off.

I have the same problem, bought the car with a busted wheel stud. I looked up the replacement procedure in the shop manual, and to press out the wheel studs you first need to completely disassemble the hub, which means pressing the wheel bearing out. This means you'll need to buy a new wheel bearing and have a shop press it back in after replacing the wheel studs.

This was more work/money than I wanted to spend on a simple wheel stud (what a stupid design!) so I just found a used hub assembly with a good wheel bearing and bought that, MUCH cheaper and significantly easier.

I've never had an issue getting the axle out of the hub without damaging the wheel bearing, a drift pin and a dead blow should pop it out with no issues.

the problem is that the studs are too long to slip past the back of the hub/axle and slide into place. so you have to take everything apart. kinda stupid.. but..

Not kinda stupid, really stupid . I've replaced wheel studs on quite a few different cars over the years and never had to press a wheel bearing out, don't see why this one should be any different. Way easier/cheaper to just buy another hub and swap them out.
